Water samples from stream sites and reservoir sites for inorganic analyses are returned to Weyandt Hall on the IUP campus immediately after sampling and stored in a refrigerator at 4 °C. Samples are kept in storage until all lab analyses are complete and results are verified. Once results have been verified, we dispose of the samples and containers[1]

Water samples from stream or reservoir sites for organic analyses are returned to Environmental Service Laboratories (ESL) for storage and analysis per state and/or federal testing guidelines and protocols.

  1. ^ There is limited storage room in the refrigerator, and no more than two quarters-worth of project samples can be stored simultaneously.
